Question If GM can make this, they can Make a new Monte Carlo ?

Save your $'s, if you want a GM Coupe with a direct injected V 6 with 304 HP...or `if you hit the lotto, you can get the V model with ZR`1 Power Oh Rear Wheel Drive ......

I think `if GM created a new DeSigned Monte , they could use the Caddy's Platform ? ? ? ? Why not ?
They could build & sell it for under $30K and create a great personal/performance coupe ? What do you think ?
(I know that I'm a dreamer, but what `if ?) 4 Real

This power is clearly enough for the majority of technical parameters on the 2012 Cadillac CTS, but since it’s just 14 horsepower more than the previous generation don’t expect any revolution to happen.
Another small performance improvement can be seen in the diet the V6 went through as the 20 lbs lost helps fuel economy.
2012 Cadillac CTS

Overall, even if you factor in the improvements in (EPA estimates come in at 18 city/27 highway) the 2012 V6 CTS may be built up by Cadillac but it’s actually a slightly better car than the previous version.
For $38,990, the CTS Coupe comes standard with a six-speed automatic transmission, rear-wheel drive, 18-inch alloy wheels, a performance suspension, rear parking assist, a Bose audio system, power front seats and keyless access with remote start.
The CTS Performance Collection starts at $43,430, and adds adaptive Xenon headlamps, leather upholstery, an upgraded Bose audio system and a 40 GB hard drive for music storage.
Topping the base CTS Coupe is the $47,835 CTS Coupe Premium Collection, which includes ambient lighting, navigation, a rear-view camera, ventilated front seats, a moonroof and a heated steering wheel.
The CTS coupe rides on the sedan's wheelbase, yet is about two inches shorter in height and two inches shorter in overall length. It eschews a conventional B-pillar for coupe styling, and interestingly, loses its door handles for push-button entry similar to that offered on the Chevrolet Corvette .
The front fascia features some detail changes compared to the CTS Sedan, such as enlarged openings for the brake cooling vents. The rear fascia adds a center-exit exhaust and unique diamond cut-style mesh lower grilles.
Standard on the CTS coupe will be the sedan's optional 3.6-liter direct-injected V6, as well as an available six-speed manual transmission. The V6 is rated at 304 horsepower, the engine is fuel thrifty enough to achieve 27 mpg on the highway using regular unleaded.
For those looking to add a sporty touch inside, 14-way Recaro sports seats from the CTS-V sedan are an option.

The CTS is definitely a wolf in sheep clothing (it is slightly quicker than a Shelby GT500 in the 1/4 mile) but with pricing starting at just under $36,000 I don't think GM could/would offer a Monte based on that platform for under $30,000. It would be nice though!

Hi `Mike, & thanks for your post...I think there would be a market for a new Monte Carlo, but yes...., I am a dreamer 4-Sure...I would love to have a updated Monte Carlo with the new direct injected V-6, six speed manual & rear wheel drive...I hope when GM visits our site that they realize the loyal fans that the Monte Carlo has in all their generations...
Yes, Chevy has the Camaro, but if you like your friends that sit in the back, there ain't much room 4-Sure..
I think a personal/performance coupe for 4 or 5 people would be a good market 4 a new Monte Carlo...? ? ?
