We were also lucky - we were supposed to get at least 1/4 of ice but I guess it was one degree too warm. Salt trucks stayed ontop of keeping the roads clear.

I've heard of most of the midwest using about 1/4 of their season's supply of salt on this one storm. Wowsie

We got lucky and havn't lost power yet. It was nice seeing alot of the ice melting off the trees today. My work has been out of power since yesterday and were told that it will probably be another 48 hrs because they are in the industrial zone that is not high priority. Sure am glad I am on lay off till march

No reason for that...it is a good thing. I consider it my yearly vacation. I drive cement mixer so it is just seasonal lay off. Planned ahead for it and had some money saved plus what I get for unemployment, I will be just fine. I would really rather stay in the warm house than go play out in this crud for 40 hrs a week anyways

The trees in my back yard didn't fare as well as those in the front. [:@]Maples and a Sycamore were the primary victims.

Got lots more pics, but the website won't let me post them - I keep getting a message that the file is too large. I guess I don't yet fully understand how to post pics here.

We had snow storms but you never hear about them because they occur over 5000 ft.

LOL I am over 5000 Ft mile high baby! And it is snowing...well it did the last couple of days...the mountains have been getting like over 5 ft of snow for the last few weeks
