I think it's time to retire the Monte
HAHA, we were talking about this before, but I never thought you'd ditch the Monte to get the V8.
I'm in the same boat, been looking around for older LS1/LT1 powered cars to have for summer fun, but keeping my Monte at the same time.
Found an AWESOME trans am, needs a little work, for 2500...but I don't want to commit to the purchase in the winter especially when I'm doing some work for the Monte right now

...of course saying what I did earlier, if I came across an 06 GTO that was priced right and well loved I'd have a heck of a time figuring out which toy was going to have to find a new home (pretty sure I know but I'd miss it). Once again good luck on your search for the Trans Am that your wanting, can't blame a person for wanting a V8 F-body!
Thanks guys. I came across a WS6 at a local Chevy dealership with only 53K and they wanted a little less than 11k for it. It was red and a 6 speed (another reason I'd much prefer it over the Monte). Luckily for us in South Carolina, our winters are by far less more terrible than you guys up north lol. I think our winters get about 50 degrees for the most part, very rare if it gets low and by low to us I mean like...in the 30's lol. I'm going to see about a private sell then just pay the bank and off the Trans Am land we go
Don't worry, I still want to be a MCF member!

Seeing that its a 3.5, I dont blame you. But what about an 06 SS. The 3.9 isn't a rocket ship for me either but the style makes up far more than speed. A nice modded Monte will turn way more heads than a Trans will. Just watch out for them telephone poles. Young 20yr olds sure love to hug them at high speed.

I am not even going to compare the two, they are both awesome for different reasons.
I have one of each, 2002 MCSS and 1999 TA

Today coming home at the turn to my street I met my wife coming from the other direction I was driving the MC, she was driving the TA, man that thing looked great, it was dusk and she had the headlights and driving lights on, it looked killer. I think I might take it tomorrow, we don't drive it much, last year under 2k, probably the same this year, currently it has 26k on the clock.
That price doesn't sound to bad, take your time and find a good one. I personally stay away from the dealers and lots, no saying there aren't good ones there, just think the odds are better to find a good car for sale by owner, and usually at a lower price. I also like to talk to the owner and try and figure out what kind of person they are and how they treated the car. I bought my TA from very nice guy, probably mid to late 30's he bought it new. A family guy who worked for the local police. He loved the car, took it to shows, and kept it in his garage under soft blankets cover with a car cover. Once a year he would remove the rims to clean the back side of the rims and inside of the tire wells - the car had only seen rain once before I purchased it, and never snow. I think I lost my direction here I am rambling, good luck MCs Rock so do TAs!

wow. jeff you have no idea how jealous i am lol! i forgot that you had a TA Ram Air. That's another of the many cars that I want to get =D black and everything! but i did see an orange one today and it was absolutely gorgeous! nto a fan of orange cars but damn!
With a little more information we might be able to decide if this information is usefull or not... I had a 79 Chevy 4X4 P/U once that was a piece of crap, but it wasn't Chevy's fault it was twenty years old and owned by several people who were in to do things half-right.That is a nice 3rd Gen Dave, did we ever chart on the 3rd gen sites, I have the same user name on TGO or Team3rdGen.
Brittany, when I was your age I was driving an econobox... you are already ahead of me at your age, by the time you are my age you'll have one of every desireable car out there.

Keep us posted on what you do, and what cars you find out there. Right now is a heck of good time to find some nice toys for sale, people can't afford to keep them and since most can't afford to buy them the prices are low.
