Default I think it's time to retire the Monte

Well guys, after 2 and 1/2 years of owning her I think I'm set on trading her in on something a little more my style. I've been dealership testing and tested some Camaros, Mustangs, G8s, Chargers, etc and I think I've come to a conclusion that I really want a Trans Am. Don't get me wrong, the Montes been good to me it's just not giving me the performance that I want and let's face it, coming from a guy who owned a Camaro Z28 and Firebird in the past, RWD is fun for someone my age. So for now I'm set on selling her as is. Who knows, I might end up keeping it if I can find parts. But if nothing comes across in the next month or so I'm letting her go...So if I do decide to leave, Thank you MCF for all your help, support, input and advice!!

Sorry to hear that your Monte isn't what you want it to be... Anything with an LS1 or LS2 would definately be plenty for your needs though.

Sorry to see you leave.. or thinking about leaving at any rate. Nothing says your garage can't hold both a Monte and a Trans Am. I have a 95 Z28 sitting in my garage... There are sometimes the Monte doesn't do what I want and there are times that the Z28 is just flat the wrong car for the situation (IE: rain and snow are a bitch with RWD and HP ). Think about it an older LT1 or early LS1 can be had fairly cheap and you would have your giggles and grins either way. Whatever you do good luck with it and nothing says you can't hang out here if you sell your Monte! Well just talk about you behind your back if you leave!

I keep eyeing WS6's myself, but we all ready have a RWD rocketship ('07 Solstice GXP), and my Intimidator is my DD. I prefer the FWD for winter. So I settled for a 300+hp FWD car. A compromise.
But I feel your desire. WS6 is my personal choice.

I'd try and keep the Monte, and get yourself the Trans Am...a dealer is going to offer you peanuts for your Monte. In the 2.5 years you have owned it, i'm sure you will be loosing out on the money factor of things! I understand the want for a V8 though....Good luck!!! And come by and visit once in a while even if you do get rid of the Monte!

Nothing wrong with going to a trans am. I would like to have my monte and a Trans Am in the future. There is no reason you can't stick around even with the trans am.
