Jul 9, 2015 - Essentially, a DCT is an automated manual transmission which uses two separate clutches, one of each odd and even gear sets. So it almost seems like a DCTis two manual gearboxes stuffed into one housing.
Member's, below is a decent vid on dual clutch

I have both. The focus is a 6 speed and a blast to drive and row gears. On the autox course the manual is key as well.

The monte is a auto obviously, honestly for how much power this thing makes and with torque steer etc you need 2 hands on the road and not have to worry about shifting so I am very happy it's a auto.

The V I would of took either way, we found a auto so that's what we got. We love it, still has the slap shift so you can play with the gears but when it's go time you don't need to worry about shifting.

Idc who you are you will never shift quicker than the new automatic transmissions out there!

I miss driving a manual

If i ever get the freaking 84 to that point it will be manual

More control and funner in my opinion, I feel like I'm more connected with my driving

Ditto here. I desire a manual. It may be hard to out shift the new auto's but a shifter and a clutch pedal are more fun to me. I like choosing my own gear, especially when I am thinking economy

Good Thread!

Manual's are fun, but for starts from a stop on an incline in the hills of the Northwest I prefer automatic, unless it's a manual with "Hill Holder" clutch.
