Doing it with a drill at all is a bad idea. A drill is going to cut into the finish way to fast. Take your time; you have more control and will get better results by hand.

X2, if your so insistant on doing it start with a test spot under the hood or trunk where you wont see it,

its going to be low speed on the drill remeber i have extra clearcoat on the hood that i did a bad job with and is flaking in spots
