I am trying to reply to a thread and I keep getting an Error 500. Any Help?

Hi Joey.

Last summer a nasty virus hita number of servers on the net. Our server was one of them. All auto forums and websites on that server (about 100 sites) were affected. The server and this forum are 100% virus free now and safe. But our operating system was permanently damaged creating various problems. The occasional ASP 500 error is one of them. I appologize for the problems you are experiencing. Our administrator has told us that the owner of this site is replacing the operating system of all their forums including this one. We don't know exactly when our turn will be. Hopefully it is very soon.

All of us are experiencing posting problems from time to time. Myself included. The owners of the forum posted the following message a while back. Maybe I should re-post it for all our new members.

Thanks Kidspace and Taz ,, I was thinking it was my PC. Not a problem,, I had a long reply written out and it was erased because of it,, no biggie. I just open my windows wordpad andwrite it on therethen copy/paste over and over until it goes through.
This is a good site,, I'm on many many forums and everyone seems to be real cool here. There is a couple of chevy sites I'm a member of and the people there are just plan rude. I don't know everything by far. I ask a question and they respond with a smart aleck reply.
I mean when I try to help someone out I try to talk to them like a friend. Even if it is a silly question. My piont,, thanks for the Help.

 

I see,, I just did about 20 Fast Replies with no luck, but when I clicked the "regular"Post Reply tab at the top left, it went right through. Thanks

 

Thanks for the tip about fast reply not working and "regular" reply working fine. That's good to know. I'll try that next time I have a long post.

I (and many others) have had the same thing happen. Just finish typing out a long reply, then it vanishes into thin air. Taken by the angry forum gods. lol. It is VERY frustrating when that happens.

If I may offer one more tip about the site in general. Don't be afraid to ask questions. The sites search feature doesn't work very well. Never did. I searched for a thread that I created a week earlier, and it couldn't find it.

We all will be SO glad when our site gets new and better software. No more multiplying appostrophies too.
