Unhappy I have some very devistating news

My Mom pasted way tonight around 11:15pm. She was only 74. She had a major stroke this past Sunday (that was totally unexpected because she has no history of high blood pressure) and was put in the ICU. I was blessed with the opportunity of spending some time with her on Saturday.

She has had a very rough life and battled Crohn's Disease and 3 surgeries for lung cancer in recent years. She was a real tough lady to survive all of that. After her 3rd surgery this past August she had an increase in dementia. She was having real trouble with her short term memory which would sometimes drive my Dad and I nuts.

I have never lost anyone that close to me before and I am not taking it very well. I know she wasn't suffering and went peacefully. She is in a better place now with her parents in heaven.

Default My Thoughts, My Prayers to you and yours.

Dear Amy,
When I got to work this morning, and logged onto
the MCF, your post was the first that I read.

I sat in silence, and deep thoughts on how I could find
the words to reply to your sad news on the loss
of your mother.

Being raised by my grandfather, & his senior citizen friends,
I have experienced many that have departed their
human life. It is never easy to lose those you love.
I've never met my mother, or knew my father,
but I still would grieve their deaths.

Death is a shocking reminder on how fragile, and short
a human life can be, especially when the departed
is the one that gave you birth.

I was enlighten to read that your mother departed peacefully,
and that your faith confirms that she is in a better
place with her loving parents in their `Heaven.

Acceptance is a major part in dealing with death.
Please don't shut people out, because this will only lead to depression.
Surround yourself with family and friends.

Do whatever it takes to keep your mom alive in your memory.

Don't ever let anyone tell you that this life is it. It is only one phrase of our eternity.
Keep your Mother in your
heart, and mind and she will be with you forever.

Everyone grieves in different ways, but I pray that
you will be able to accept your loss in your time.

My deepest sympathy to you, and yours
Sincerely,

My thoughts & prayer's

Kid Space

I am sorry to hear about the loss of your mother. We lost a member on anotehr car forum late last year and someone found this poem.. I thought it was beautiful, perhaps it can give you some comfort.

When I come to the end of the road
And the sun has set for me
I want no rites in a gloom-filled room.
Why cry for a soul set free?

Miss me a little--but not too long
And not with your head bowed low.
Remember the love that we once shared,
Miss me--but let me go.

For this is a journey that we all must take
And each must go alone.
It's all a part of the Master's plan,
A step on the road to home.

When you are lonely and sick of heart
Go to the friends we know
And bury your sorrows in doing good deeds.
Miss Me--But Let me Go!
