Default How would you tax this???

How would you tax the up coming 2010 chevy volt?
It hardly uses a drop of gas.

Maybe that's why the government, is talking about taxing how many miles you drive.

the way i would think they would do it is at a plug in port. or charging station. it would read the amount of miles driven. then charge to an account for that. either that or something along the lines of an i pass at every stop light. (thats the illinois toll road thingy) just a few thoughts

Default Send Tax $'s 2 `Space : )

I would tax them $1 a `watt or volt
I would tax them for the `space they drive on the roads
Then the Gov't would have to send stimulus $'s to
`Space for ReSearch ,& his auto-`dreams

I am sure our goverment will find a way. I think everyone is going
to have to pay higher taxes for the trillions of dollars that our goverment is spending
I think electric cost are going to rise
and the cost of batteries are still `high.....I think there will be more
people gett'in `high Especially when the bills come in
How many `Volt's does it take to run a 1/4 miles in 10 Sec ?
Peace/Out/`Space

i think it would be even higher for us where do you think they get the money to fix the roads. from the gas and gas tax it is more proffitable to go after us that still love driveing gased cars. batteries are getting to the time where there getting better. but i cant see my self driveing the volt.

I think I could actually see tax reductions on this, like with hybrid cars.

The only electric car I can see myself in is the Cadillac Converj. Sexiest thing Ive seen come out of GM for a while.

To me personally it doesn't matter because I know I won't be getting one. Let the eco-friendly drivers buy hybrids because they're actually doing us all favors by saving all that extra gas for us. How nice of them! lol

I think it would be suicide to gas/oil companies. I thinks that why gas prices are staying somewhat down.
