We met thru an old fourm called ICQ - I was playing Diablo on-line with a friend that lived in AZ. we would pass messages thru ICQ to plot against our opponents in the game.

I got an "Oh Oh" message and was randomly chosen for Ronda .... that was 15 years ago

Hi 'Tadd, that's a great story 4-Sure...Thank You 4 sharing.
I love the internet & it has opened 'up my mind to so many things. The bum's & I use to fight to use the only computer we had when we were in our teens. Space would get 'up in the middle of the night to log on & he was always checking out car sites & X-Rated sites (LOL)...

Thanks 'Tadd for sharing & I hope you & Ronda live happily ever after > 4-Ever U 'got the connection (LOL) 4-Sure!!!!!!

I'd like to think I could go without the internet altogether. I mean, we know it can be done right? A few other champions through history have pulled off web-free lives.

I take a camping vacation for a week every year. During this time I'm web free. Others I camp with retreat to their smart phones, but not I. I try not to get caught up in this online full-time lifestyle. I don't like it when I see it, but its everywhere. At my wife's work Christmas party everyone sat a tables with eyes glued to the smartphones - every function is like that (even the kids Christmas Party). People are oblivious to one another. Do people even talk to one another in a bar anymore, or just exchange text numbers and facebook info so they can "talk" later that way?

I've had cells phones and I have a Facebook account, but I've dug my feet in. I log on to Facebook once per year. I have no cell phone anymore, no twitter. And if the internet were gone one day I think I'd be okay.

In a generation where a "friend" on your facebook page, can walk right up to you without being recognized, and the phone numbers/address' of 3 friends can't be remembered without electronics, it's safe to say the web has not been a savior in all ways. I have no facebook account anymore and can actually talk with friends without having to be sure that what I say must be previewed before "posting"..... Sure, modern tech is a blessing in many ways, but being a friend, in my opinion, requires more that a key stroke. It requires actual effort and the ability to know and understand your friends so well, that their intended meaning is automatically understood.
Good poll! I feel better now......
