My forum handle was an obvious choice for me I have looked like the late Dale Earnhardt Sr. all my life, from age 3 I can match a photo with his we were the same age, birthdays are 150 days apart which makes me 150 days older. I met and spent time with him back in the late 80's and it was like looking in a mirror. My favorite quote from the was( " Dale: you have no idea who I am do you? Me: just some bozo who looks like me.) We just laughed and he gave me as much crap as he could during that time. The encounter made a lasting impression. The photo cover attached shows DALE on the top and the 3 pics below are me. Fun but can be annoying on occasion. but in all the encounters with fans I never offended any of them.

Mine began win the mid 90's when I got my first modem and signed up for my first dial up BBS (before AOL, Prodigy and other gateways to the internet, some of us used small dial in systems). I wanted a name that I thought would be neat and somewhat unique. I searched like crazy for some inspiration. I began looking at video games, and while flipping through my floppy disk collection, ran across "Maniac Mansion".
What little did I know , around 20 years later, I'm still using it (now on car forums).
