How Clean/Dirty Is you're Monte?
Hey guys, I'v been very frustrated recently as I am in the middle of a few projects on red and between work, her being my DD and not having a garage I find myself with all the odds and ends for my projects floating around my car. Dirt, dust and contaminants are not an issue as I clean her regularly but always find myself without a place to put everything or the time to clean up after I am done. Right now i have a bunch of hardware and wiring in the passenger compartment as well as the trunk (that is what will fit with the new sound system) I do my best to keep it clean but like I said the DD, DIY, "work in progress" is obvious in my car. I'm just curious what your guys Montes look lke on a daily basis. Inside and out.
Interior wise, the Bud Chev is always spotless. I don't keep crap in my car. But I am ashamed that I had to put him away dirty this year (for winter storage). I park it in my sisters in her garage and I just couldn't get it away soon enough. I was driving it in a snowstorm right before I locked it down, so it was covered in snow and I couldn't put the cover on. Normally it washed and detailed before I store it - this is a first. But I did get it away before they put the salt down on the roads, so it should be okay.
Mines as clean as it was for the last meet we attended.. I too have parked/stored mine for the winter. I don't have a cover on it in the garage.... But I do have my California duster handy as it collects a little dust. But as Justin (ZZPULTIMATE) put so nicely "Its so shiny" is how it sits right now stored for the winter...LOL
Come spring, a quick vacuum and a light wash and wax and she will be ready for shows and meets!

All you lucky winter storage people. Like I said daily driver and a lot of ongoing projects plus with the fresh paint I can't wax her and I'm scared to do more than a light wash. She still shines really bright the fresh paint looks amazing
My monte is always "show ready" I don't let it get dirty and if it does it just gets dusty. It is garaged and stored in the winter and I don't drive it if the weather is bad.. Example is rain or anything like that.

Well, i store mine, but it's outside. Prior to parking, she's washed and vacuumed out. Covered with a breathable cover. Come spring, she will look as good as she did when I tucked her in for winter
My Grand Am on the other hand, could use a vacuum and a wipe down on the plastic and a wash. But all stuff for when weather breaks. Outside of that, a snow brush is about the only thing lingering around and some stuff in the trunk.

I hate you Dave (dbaldwin) you have a NEW paint job. I really envy you, just like to say hate, but I want a new paint job in a couple of years. Had my Monte repainted about 5 years ago when the stripes were painted on. But the darn road debris just keeps making all those little nicks and such on the front of the car. I bet it does pain you to not be able to stay on top of your Monte like you would like to.
My Monte is under a carport with an OEM GM Monte Carlo cover on it. I take it out when I can when the roads are clear and there is no chance of catching bad weather. The turbo just seems to come very alive with all the extremely cold air, to much fun to not take advantage of it. I have a couple of things on my rear floor board like a cap, jacket, etc. Keep a tow strap, jumper cables, California duster, microfibers and a helmet in the trunk. Seems like the interior is always in need of a vacuuming.
Hope you have the best of luck out there especially exposing your Monte to other drivers in the bad weather conditions. Love that you have ongoing projects for your Monte. I'm trying to come up with something special for my Monte, hope it takes my Monte over the top to steal away John's "Turbo Monte" consecutive wins at the GM nat's for best modified 6th gen. Monte this coming year.
