History Lesson 101
The 1973 Monte Carlo was named Motor Trend's "Car of the Year", due to its new styling and emphasis on Euro-style ride and handling. The 1973 Monte Carlo set a new sales record for Chevrolet, with nearly 250,000 sold for the model year.
I sure didn't know this?

Space,
Thank you for being the one and only MCF member who thought this info was worth commenting on.
I did not know the Monte Carlo was named "Car Of The Year" by Motor Trend magazine till a member of Motortopia posted a little quiz on the web site asking "What year was the Monte Carlo named Car Of The Year?"
So I did a little search and found this information. I thought my friends on MCF would be interested in knowing this about their cars? Afterall, any and all Montes are related to the 1973 Monte Carlo that was named Car Of The Year.
As for Cort & I doing a joint effort publication on the Chevy Monte Carlo, I can say I'm 100% sure Cort knows more about these cars then I do.
