Yikes, that doesn't sound too good.. But they already did a skin graft to close up my thigh, so I don't think I'm too worried about that I hope. And there's no cast as they used a titanium plate up my femur to bolt it back together. Only thing holding me back is a couple more weeks of not being able to put weight on it. Hopefully just another month and a half until I'll be on both feet again.

Hey everyone, just want to share the great news I got today from the orthopedic doctor. The wound itself has been healing nicely as per the plastic surgeon, and the orthopedic doctor told me today that I can start bearing weight on my leg now, as much weight as I can tolerate on it. I actually stood up on 2 feet for the first time in 2 months just now and it felt weird but amazing. Just wanted to share the news!

Wow, that's a tough road to run. Good to hear you are on the way to a full recovery. Been there about 20 years ago. Makes you feel lucky and blessed to be alive and mostly healthy.

Hey all, just an update to anyone that's interested.

I'm doing fantastic now. My plastic surgeon is very happy with how the skin is healing and it doesn't need to be bandaged up anymore, and I have just 1 more surgery ahead of me to get my knee moving again. I'm walking around now without any help, no crutches or cane. It's been a long process so far, but I didn't expect to be walking already just 4 months after the accident. I should be back to normal completely within the next few months after I get that last surgery!

Thank you all for your kind words so far.
