Glad to read you got him back..
A group called: Gem City Classics hosted a car show every august. I went to this show about 20 years myself. Well about 10 years ago at their show there was a large parrot flying around the camp grounds making lots of noise. (I think he was scared and wanted to go home)
Some tried to catch it but did no good.
We left the show about 5pm. And for the next year we wondered what happened to the poor bird?
The very next year, same show we asked, "What happened to the parrot?" So many asked about the bird they announced over the PA system the bird was re-united with it's owner. Somehow, someone recognized the bird, called the owner and they managed to capture the bird. So he was safetly back home with his owner.

He's beautiful! You gotta get some pics of him against the car - maybe under the hood peckin' at the polished supercharger. I know they like shiney things! I think he is a wonderful fastenating creature!
I've had 3 cockteils in my life. The funny part is that I found 2 of them and the one I bought flew away. That story didn't end like yours (I never saw him again), but it was only a $80 bird.
I'd love to have an african grey. It soo suits you too - just the silver and all....

I would laugh if i saw that in person, but am happy for you.
Oh btw, 2 things, first, this story didn't have a happy ending
and the correct term is 'african-american'
JK, don't anyone take offense.

lol it's all good jose. my first parrot was a mexican red headed, lol for real that's the name of it. it's an amazon parrot. i would never take him outside like i done before. i would probably never see him again if he fly off again. like i said they are smart and have good memory. he now know that he can fly and i'm pretty sure he will try again.
