HELP!! my pet parrot flew away.
well, there's a happy ending to the story. i have an african grey parrot and most people that have knowledge about these parrot will tell you that they are very smart bird. anyway here's what happen yesterday i took him out to Pet smart to shop for his new toy so he can destroy them. i clipped his wings about a month ago and didn't realized they grew back that fast. most people take their dog to pet store i thought it would be kinda different taking my parrot cuz that's something that you don't see everyday.
when i got to pet smart i had him perched on my finger he was calm and everything. pet smart didn't have the toys i wanted for him so we got out of the store and head to petco 2 blocks away. i pulled into petco parking lot, had my parrot perch on my finger like last time. my parrot started flapping his wings and i didn't thought anything of it. i thought he's just stretching his wings. he begin flapping his wing faster and harder and oh wow off my finger there he goes flying low to the ground. thought he going to land soon cuz his wings are not fully grow back yet. wow was i wrong!! i was shock seeing him disappear behind a tree.
i didn't know what to do. i was more confused than getting mad. i thought man forget it i will never see him again there go my $1200 down the drain. as i was walking to the car something hit me and it's telling me to go find the bird. i didn't waste no time and started running about a block away where i last saw my parrot disappear into.
i spotted him on top of a residential roof top. i was running by the window looking to see anyone home. i saw bunch of kids inside the house and started knocking on the door. a little girl answer the door. i asked for her mother. when her mother came out i explained to her and pointing to the roof and telling her if i can go get my parrot. her son bought a ladder out and i climb on the roof. i calmly calling my bird's name and tell him to come here. he actually walked toward me and step up to my finger.
i thank the lady and her son. the lady have a parrot too in a cage outside in her yard. maybe that's the reason my parrot decide to land on that roof top instead of the tree or some other building. who knows but i'm glad i got him back THE END
