RE: happy birthday to me lol
I'm still young at Heart. Plus, I got to be there for the birth of Muscle Cars. I was a Hot Rod Kid in the 60's. The Golden Days of Roak-'n-Roll. All we needed back then was enough dough to buy something with a Chevy Plant and we started-in on it until it was Born-Again Fast and ready for the street. We used to rebuild a whole Engine over the weekend and had guys doing all sorts of jobs to help get the project done.
I still remember the time I went to this guys garage who bought a wrecked Chevy with a 327 in it! We cut that engine out and tore it all down and souped-it-up from Friday after school until we rode in the Hot Rod we put it in to school on Monday! I was the Porting and Polishing guy that weekend! We were called "Greasers" because when we went to the hamburger stand for a snack ... we looked like we had been cleaning parts with the clothes we had on.
I still do all my own work. These days its complicated by all the Electronics. Back then, we were running Fat-10's and 11's. 409, 3-2's, 4-on-the-floor, Hurst, Posi's, and Cheater's ... 50,000 Watts of AM and American Top 40.
Pass the Brylcreme. My flat-top with a ducks-azz, Madras Coat, Black D!ck!e and Hush Puppies are Cruisin' for a Brusin'! Far-out, Man!
