Video Find: Watch the World’s Fastest Nissan GT-R Get Sideways at 233 MPH

<!--leftside ends here -->The 2013 Nissan GT-R is one of the most impressive cars we’ve ever tested. In the right hands, the all-wheel-drive beast is capable of accelerating from 0-60 mph in 2.8 seconds , and completing the quarter mile in 11.1 seconds at 124.8 mph . For many, that’s quick enough, but not for Illinois-based tuners AMS. The company took its modified GT-R to the Texas Mile for a top speed run, where what may be the world’s fastest Nissan GT-R got sideways on its top speed run.
AMS’ Nissan GT-R, dubbed the Alpha Omega GT-R, was built with the sole purpose of seeing just how fast Godzilla could go. AMS’ first run happened on a Friday. For this first run, the tuners tweaked its GT-R to produce 1050 horsepower to all four wheels, thanks to 24.5 lbs. of boost. This run saw the Alpha Omega GT-R hit 221 mph over the mile, reportedly enough to be the world’s fastest GT-R.
But AMS thought its GT-R had more in it, so another run was planned the next day. With the winds dead, the tuners upped the boost to 29.5 lbs., allowing the GT-R to produce 1250 hp at the wheels. On the runway surface the GT-R reached an astonishing top speed of 233.1 mph— that’s when the driver pulled the drag chute and things got a bit sideways.

I'll bet the driver was doing the same thing once the cameras were off. Personally, I think the racing stripe would have looked better on the car instead of in his shorts. :p

I've been over 160 MPH + in my grandfather's Corvette years ago, but never close to the 200 MPH + Zone ~> WoW p.s. I wasn't driving, just riding, but I trust my grandpa 4-Sure...(He just serviced his Vette & had new tires & went over everything b-4 he took it out to the air strip to test it)+ we had to wear helments & buckle `up (LOL) he wouldn't let me drive it, but I was still a young crazy teen LOL now I'm just a older crazy person LOL 4-Sure

When I was young (and stupid) I did numerous 120+ mph runs on public roads. After a tragic accident involving a good friend of mine I stopped racing on public roads and moved all my high speed endeavors to the race track.

 

That GTR is wicked id love to have one lol

 

Obviously the Helmet hide some emotions but he seemed pretty S'all good

Driving I've gone 120 Mph in a Ford Focus I used to own

Passenger I've gone 160 Mph in Golf GTI Turbo
