Getting ready for winter!!!
Well yesterday i took my 20's off and put my stock 16's back on. I hate the way it looks now, but i put the stock rims back on, because i dont want the weight of the car sitting on same spot with out moving for the whole winter. but its kinda funny, after having my stock rims on now for a day my mpg went up from 17-18 in town to 22-24 in town, its weird how big of a jump it made. is there anyone else store there car over winter?

honestly, my car is nothing special but i wish i had a winter ride, but just can't swing it right now!! so, i guess i gotta go through winter with my 06 monte, which really sucks!!

Nope, mine is a year-round driver. Bought it cheap, just for that. The stock chrome wheels are in rough shape. Starting to have problems holding air because of the chrome flaking off. Salt and chrome do NOT mix well. Glad I have summer wheels. Also glad I am running winter tires and not all season tire in the winter. WHAT a difference! Never realized how much better a winter tire is over an all season tire until you have them. Been 30 years since I had winter tires!

to tell the truth, i originally bought mine as my winter beater, lol. of course, i no longer concider it a beater, lol, but its still gonna get driven rather than anything else i have

Justin, I'm guessing some of your MPG is being caused by the added weight of your 20's.
Right now my car is a year round driver. But as soon as funds allow, I'd love to get a good used Silverado for a daily driver. So I can keep my Monte as a fair weather car.
Starting this winter, I'm removing my Dale Jr rims for the winter and putting on snow tires on winter rims. This winter I'm using some plain black steelie rims. But wouldn't mind getting some better looking rims to run in the winter.

Precious used to be a DD for 3 years and then I started buying winter beaters. When I paid Precious off I bought a better used car as my DD. So, Precious (Red 03) gets stored and Silver (Silver 05) gets driven in the salt. There already is rust under the hood on the strut towers and all over the frame. I am getting the rust that is starting at the door seams fixed next spring when I take it in to get the hood and bumper repainted.
