RE: the GAYEST mod of all times
as far as working, i see they say nothing about how much boost is produced, i'll admit i was curious about something like this fora motorcycle in the past (very young n stupid) and did some testing. i found that the maximum pressure that i could get out of a fan, even at no flow was about 1/3" of water, i belive this equates to about .01 bar. and then that would drop as flow increased, so in a perfect world i figured you could gain up to 1% more power. however, the extra load on the alternator should cancel that out. looks like about a $345 stupidity tax.

Technically that MIGHT, and that is a very loose might work at the low end, but as the rpms ramp up I think it would be a hinderance.
The only way to know for sure is to measure the air intake total at an rpm range and know what the "turbo" (we'll call it a fan from now on) puts out.
The intake is easy.Lets say 2000 rpms.
We take 2000 rotations per minute, multiply by the displacement of an engine and divide by 2 as it one rotation is used toinduct air/fuel mix and compress and the 2nd is the combusion and exhaust process.
So 2000 X 3.4 Liters / 2 = 3,400 Liters of Air per minute.
At 5500 rpm (the top end) 5500 X 3.4 / 2 = 9350 Liters of Air per minute.
After looking into it, they "claim" 250 Cubic Feet Per Minute. I don't remember what the displacement is for a 3400 so I'm going to go with a 3800 which I know translates to 231 cubic inches.
Per Google - 1 cubic inches = 0.000578703704 cubic feet
So: 5500 rpm X 231 Cubic Inches X 0.000578703704 conversion / 2 = 367.62 CFM
This means on a 3800 engine it is choking it as the fan only puts out 250 and the engine needs 367.62 breathing freely.
Running a quick calculation, it will only help up to 3725 RPM after that it is slowing you down.
It would have helped my old GEO.....
