Garage Floor coating
#11
I had no idea that a lot of those garage floor coatings were pulling up like that. I'll keep this thread in mind next time I have to get a concrete slab poured. Especially in a garage.
Thanks for the heads up. You guys are great!

I do know alot of people with coatings, and they did hold up nice, I think they had it professionally done. It isnt pulling up or peeling yet. Just make sure its an epoxy, not paint. And the more coats, the better.

I know at my old job we painted floor in shop with epoxy, First we had to use acid on the concrete then we put epoxy on .. We drove 3 forklifts on floor and parked them on it no problems ..

We still have to do the garage floor in this house. The original owners just painted it and it's peeling up really bad. We did it in the old house and it held up really well.

I've got epoxy w/ the speckles on my floor- it was done as an option when the house was built a few years back. The stuff is absolutely amazing- I've had absolutely zero problems with it leaving tire impressions or peeling (even with our crazy heat out here- or long term parking); it looks pretty good; and everything cleans up instantly off it- coolant, oil, water, whatever- just sits on top and wipes off easily. Plus, its stupid hard to scratch through by dropping stuff on it.
