I think there are other names in line before a Monte Carlo Return, namely Chevelle (Basically a G8/Commodore, or even an el camino (Ute) but if GM did decide to make the Monte Carlo Return, I would like it bigger then the camaro, and a tad smaller then a G8...base it on the Holden Coupe 60:

It would Definitely be RWD.

Engine Choices 3.6 Direct Inject with 300 HP, mid- high 20's

SS Version would recieve a LS3 with 420HP in the Low 30's

Since it's more of a tourer ala the Challenger and not a full sports car, it'd probably only come in an Auto...

Weight, since it would be a bigger car I'd say it would be as much, if not more then a Camaro.

Design, definitely needs the "swoopy" lines ala the the 4th & 6th gens, and retro up and down rectangle tails ala Newer Cadillacs. And the cut smaller back side windows.

Just My Idea,
Joe

Since the Holden coupe picture has resurfaced, I'll save people the photoshop work.

Here's the photoshopped versions of that car that were done about a year or so ago. Various MCF Holden-based Monte Carlos...

#1
Holden badge replaced with "SS", and "Monte Carlo" added to the bumper.

#2
Hood altered at the grill opening. Making the hood's front lip straight across.

#3
Lower grill opening altered.

#4
Headlights altered slightly to give a meaner look.

#5
Back to stock Holden. But with Chevy bowtie in grill, SS on door, and Monte Carlo on bumper.

#6
Same as number 5, but with lower grill alteration.

#7
Same as #6, but with red bowtie in grill.

My fav out of Lou's designs. I just personally want it to come back as a sweet looking coupe with some power but still affordable & functional for everyday driving

If there's enough activity & interest, then there also could be a demand for a new Monte Carlo...A desire for a New Future Monte Carlo has to start somewhere to keep the dream going ~> Why not the MCF LOL

p.s. ^ another Novice attempt ^ by some weird `kid ^

Thanks everyone for your post/comments/idea's/pic's/contributions
Look 4ward to reading & seeing more...

Space, I'm really digging your original 'shopped rendering of the monte. Especially the specs.

My personal favorite out of all the concept Montes I posted previously is this one. I don't really care what is in the grill. Whether it's an "SS", a bowtie, a knight's crest, or even blank. What I like about this one is the shortened upper grill, the more aggressive headlights, and the silver line going all the way across the front of the lower grill.
