Morning Frinds. Well home from Bluffton IN. Was a white knuckle 3 hour trip down there and back.. Parts of I69 where closed. So many slide offs and wrecks along the way.
Why is it the 4 wheel drive owners belive they are immune to ice? Was sad actually to see so many drivers in destress. The 2011 Malibu rental we where driving behaved very well in the inclimate conditions and still got 28.5 MPG. Just glad to be home and working from home today. Drive safe friends and remember 4 wheel drive helps you on deep snow NOT on ice. Be carefull!

Good Morning all. Tadd, glad you made it safe. We had a decent amount of snow yesterday, but Bluffton is an hour North of me. More coming today. Nothing worse than a road trip on the interstate in bad weather.

Mornin' all & TGIF! The temp is hovering around 30° We got some more snow yesterday that turned to an ice rain later in the day. When I went outside to clean the Monte off yesterday afternoon it was completely covered with a solid sheet of ice about 1" thick. I had a real 'fun' time getting the doors, hood and trunk open. I'm just glad I cleaned the snow off the cars the day before or it would have been a bigger mess.
Hope everyone makes a good one of it today.

Mornin guys. Gotta run a couple errands before I go to bed ugh. Gotta work again tonight as well. Tonight was by far our best night running the new line though. Our hourly goals are 38 if we didn't have a break and 34 if we did and we broke 40 three or four times, including 47 the hour before our first break and 48 the hour before last break. Ran clear out of trim several times and was keeping up with trim the last 2 hours which slowed us down and kept us from keeping that rate of production up.
Well, I'm gonna run my errands and then go to bed. Later guys.

There's a warm front moving in out of the South, so we'll be getting some relief from the snow and ice this evening. That's a double edge sword though. The weight of the snow and ice has brought down a lot of trees and blocked roadways. On one road to the South of me there are 25 trees down in a 22 mile stretch. There are thousands without power and in some areas it will take 4-5 days to restore it. With the warmer air and rain the snow and ice will melt but cause flooding in some ares. Some Counties have declared a state of emergency and the National Guard is on standby. Seeing all this happening around me makes me thankful we still have power and live in an area that won't flood. I have an unsettling feeling that the worst is yet to come...
