Kerry that sounds really interesting. If I ever get back to Chicago again I'll have to check it out. I only have been there once for my sons graduation from naval basic training in Grand Lakes.

I went to a place that sounded like that once. In my case it was "LOST IN THE WOODS, Missouri." also known as Fort Leonardwood, Missouri. It was no vacation though. It was eight weeks of basic training for the US Army back in 1986.

My wife has an aunt/uncle/cousins that live in northwest Indiana about 45 minutes away from Chicago, so we've been out a few times.

When we were there we were rushed because GJ (my son in the navy) had limited time to sight see and to visit. He had to ship out for his next duty station.

Good night all, I'm going to bed now. I have to get up to take my girls to their bowling league in the morning, then we're driving to Pittsburgh in the afternoon. My wife has a doctor appointment Monday and the kids are off school, so we're turning it into a mini getaway.
If I can't sleep you still might see me on. LOL

They do tend to have a more experienced/knowledgeable staff compared to the competition. They're also willing to fill special orders.
The way the guy explained it to me is they have a truck leave the warehouse in Nashville every two hours. If it takes till the next morning it's because it's in the Atlanta or Missouri warehouse. He also said if I ever need anything right after work that he shows up early and gets everything opened up a little earlier than their official opening time and he'll hook me up.

I've always had good luck with the local Advance (the one on NW broad, not the one on SE broad closer to me LOL) but O'Reilly is even closer to me which works great. Like I said, everywhere else here, even if I show up when they open, says they can't get the part till the next day even if it is sitting in Nashville (all the parts stores have warehouses in Nashville)
