Welp, one hour after midnight and I'm still alive. Anyone else?

Ricks 2006 SS 12-21-2012 01:32 AM

Good morning: Let me tell you why i'm up and on this site so damn early! I worked over nites Mon , Tues & Weds. Got off of work weds morning around 6:10 am. Couldn't help myself. Had to get the Hell out of there. Right then & now. I walked out after saying my goodbyes to the people I work with. Then headed towards the car. I wasn't in a good mood or bad mood!. As I walked out of the store. I turned around and just looked back at it and smiled. Hey I don't have to be there tonight was my thought . I started the car and turned on the seat wamers. Aww that felt good. Then turned on kqrs and drove home all smiles. Felt so good I rolled down the window a bit ( 18 degrees) and had the radio turned up:thumbsup:. Then got home and taked to my wife a bit. Made a bite to eat and then took a nap. Bad move on my part. I should have started right away. By staying up till at least dark 30. But since I took a nap I was up late. Then tried to force myself to sleep at 1:30 am. I tossed and turned most of the night. Looking at the clock seems like every hour or so:mad: I had to be up early so we could take Ozzie in for his hair cut around 7:30 am. So I figured I got maybe 3 hrs tops of sleep. So I was in a crabby mood most of the day. My wife even said. Your in a good mood today. I told her I need a nap it think. No sooner I layed down the Groomer calls Ozzie is ready. So we both jump in the car and go get him. ha ha ha ha:rotfl: My God he looks like a little puppy instead of this old looking dude!:rotfl: He was so cute looking and was happy to see us. He was just actting crazy! So then we got home and did a few thing around the house. Then around noon ish. I got real tired so I went downstairs and took a nap in front of the big screen TV for about 2 hrs. Then got up in a great mood. Plus I think it was the smell of a cake that woke me up. So got up cleaned up and went upstairs to see what that smell was! OMG had to have a piece of Carmel & apple cake. Damn that was good. The day before we had fried chicken. I LOVE FRIED chicken. But not the white meat. My wife said she's going to make like a stew out of whats left over. :(. It just didn't sound good at all. So I went on the pc for a while and got hungry as hell smelling that cooking. And I'll be dogged faced if it wasn't so damn good I had two bowls of it.. Then cleaned up the kitchen for her. Hey she cooked I cleaned ! Good oiled machine we have here :rotfl:. Then her being up all day after working over nites last night. She was dozeing off. So I went down stairs to watch TV & play words with friends. I too dozed off till around 8:30. Then got up and told her to go to bed. I was going to stay up a bit and I'd be there soon. yeah right 9;30 I hit that pillow. Then Ozzie was at the foot of the bed came up and started to lick my hand:rolleyes:. Man don't tell me you have to go out now!!!:nono:. But he didn't so I got up to get a drink and here i still am. Sitting here typing like a crazy person who can't sleep any more. And then I have to meet the guys & girls from work for breakfast at 6:30 am! So here we go again no sleep. And it looks like I'll be up most of the day. I hope I can last till around 10 pm then hit that pillow. Then my inter clock will be re set! Ok I've bored you guys and girls long enough time to move on to my other site and bored the Hell out of them too :rotfl:.

lougreen03 12-21-2012 01:59 AM

Wow I cant believe I read all of that. I know the feeling Rick I work a day job and a night job. When they both fall on the same days I need to fit a nap in somewhere but then when I do I cant well that night. Thankfully my wife is off tomorrow to do the school run and I dont work til nighttime so I can sleep in a little. I do have to get up tho so we can finish up our last minute shopping and get some grocerys. See you all tomorrow and I am glad the world is still here:)

Were suppose to be dead yesterday, or today? Either way it is good to see everyone. Man Rick, that sucks. I feel you, I work over night shifts, back to back. And I don't sleep during the day...

Ricks 2006 SS 12-21-2012 06:04 AM

I have to say this Bull sh** about the end of days. Has a lot of people on edge. yeah they laugh about it on the outside. But inside its enough to scare the crap out of them. Adults and kids alike are really troubled by this. I don't bring it up to anyone. If someone brings it up. I jst shake it off. Why talk about something you have No clue on ? Why scare people with this stuff? My grandson ( 8yrs old) Is having a rough time with it. Had to talk to him for a long time about it. And so has his mom & dad. But the kids in school are scared to death about this. And that doesn't help any of them get thru this B/S... Glad when saturday rolls around. The poor kids will be feeling a lot better and some adults also.

DRuben 12-21-2012 06:09 AM

As I predicted, the world didnt end :p, Im up headed to waffle house for some breakfast then to clean up my truck from the carbon black plant i worked at yesterday

werewolf-odst 12-21-2012 06:21 AM

I think the whole end of the world thing is a nice joke. And some of the people that flipped out about it, it is funny the predictions they had and all the conspiracies...

Morning everyone, I'm still alive as well. Winter is officially here.

Snow is falling here. The roads are just wet still but everything else is snow covered. We're only suppose to get up to 1" in SE Michigan now, although Northern Detroit suburbs are suppose to get 2-2.5".

http://media.pnsdigital.com/weather/...1221121100.jpg

I went into the Chevrolet dealership yesterday to test drive that Cruze LTZ and overheard one of the ladies talking about how some family of hers lives up on Higgins Lake (near our place on Houghton Lake) and said they had 6" on the ground already, and that was at 11:45am yesterday. Higgins/Houghton Lake area has about 12" on the ground right now.

I test drove a fully loaded black granite metallic Cruze LTZ, with the RS package, (MSRP at $26,885) that the guy priced out at $276/mo with $1,500 out of pocket for a 3 year lease. What is everyone's opinion on that cost/month? The test drive went well and I really like the car. Overall styling inside and out is very nice and the interior is very comfortable and roomy for a sub compact. I calculated out a rough estimate and figure I'll be saving at least $100 in gas a month if I were to drive the Cruze and not the Suburban.

Hi `Matt,
I was going to complain about the weather & that Florida has posted "Freeze Warnings" in parts of the state, but after viewing the weather on the web, I decided to not complain..(Mother nature does not listen to me @ `all :rotfl: Be Safe Out there on your highways of `Life 4-Sure
==============================================
`Matt, I'm not familiar with personal leases & only business auto leases that you can deduct the cost as a business expense..(I don't know in our future `if that deduction will still apply with our national budget...

Did you compare the difference between buying it vs leasing ?
What is your mile limitations ? Insurance Cost ? Can you write some of the cost `off as a business use ? I hope that you do your homework & search the web to read what the experts in this area state...It's so much better to do you research b-4  then after 4-Sure...It's your $'s, so I'd do what you think is best for you...

I'd personally prefer to own my own vehicle vs lease...I like to mod my rides in attempts to make them different then the rest & I know that you can't do that with a lease car (useless they can be removed b-4 your lease `ends...Wish you good luck on your decisions 4-Sure...

Morning friends! Bad humor I know. Lansing is getting dumped on with snow

06mistreSS 12-21-2012 07:51 AM

Thanks Space. Buying versus leasing does look more expensive. I did also have the salesman price out the same exact car as a purchase, just for the hell of it.

2013 Chevrolet Cruze LTZ $26,885 (RS package)

Lease:
3 year lease - $1,500 down - $276/month

Purchase:
5 year finance - $6,000 down - $378/month

I also checked another Chevrolet dealership and their same lease terms on the same car is at $286/month. Part of me wants to lease because I'm not really planning to keep this car long term and, if my needs change in 3 years or so, I'm not stuck with a second car I bought. However, if for whatever reason I do want to buy the car when the lease is up, I can do that. It will not be a business lease so this will all be out of my pocket. I'm mainly looking for something newer with better gas mileage than the truck I'm driving as my second vehicle right now, and also so that I can keep the mileage and normal wear down on the Monte. I am driving the truck 100% right now since the Monte is in storage, but when the car is out I try to drive that as much as possible because the truck sucks gas and isn't as fun to drive. If I had the Cruze, I'd drive that more than I drive the truck on a normal basis. The Suburban gets an average of 13 mpg while the Cruze gets 30. So, like I mentioned earlier, I'd be saving at least $100 each month in gas.

Space 12-21-2012 07:58 AM

Good Luck `Matt,
So you are getting a open end lease with the option to buy at the end of your lease...Is there a set purchase price @ the time ?
Do they have an estimate of the residual value of the Cruze ?
You did not post your mile limitations & what the cost is `if you go over ? I think it's hard to determine what the Cruze will be worth @ the end of the lease..., but I still would want a open end lease vs a closed end lease...

Are you going to sell or trade the Suburban ? Did you check your insurance cost on your lease ?
Wish you good luck on getting what you want & can afford

ChibiBlackSheep 12-21-2012 08:03 AM

Top 3 reasons people like to buy over leasing.

1. You own the car
2. You aren't limited to mileage caps.
3. You can do whatever you want with the car.

Top 3 reasons someone leases

1. They get a new car every 3 years
2. They pay less per month
3. Tax break

03JGMonte 12-21-2012 08:30 AM

Morning Everyone, so far we are still here, & a lease isnt a bad way to go, ive been looking into a Dart to lease, if you already own a car a lease is a pretty good way to go

Good Morning `Mike,
It's great that our world survived & you got another day to start our Member's `Blog :congrats: Thank You!

Why do you want/need another car ? You have your Monte, SRT, Mazda, Escort, Ford Edge & more I don't know about :rotfl: Why do you want a `Dart....

Do you want to Dart around town ?, instead of Edge'in around town ? :)
http://www.theautochannel.com/news/2...eilig.1-lg.jpg

Have you driven the Dart ? The turbo version or the 2.4L ? What model do you like ? Have you driven one ? I've only seen one on the road (but, I don't get out much) LOL

Look 4ward to your reply...
Wish you a Happy New Day ~> EnJoy

06mistreSS 12-21-2012 08:39 AM

Ah yeah, sorry about that. I'm looking at a 10k mile (possibly 12k) per year lease since I'd still be driving the Monte sometimes. My Dad said it's about .27 cents a mile when you go over (from what he's seen). Insurance is $103/month on the Cruze LTZ. I would not be trading in the Suburban as it is my Dad's truck and our primary tow vehicle.

I have also considered buying a used Cruze LTZ as opposed to leasing a new one. I've come across nice 2011's at $18-$20k. I found a nice looking 2011 LTZ (basically the same as the new one I test drove yesterday) with 37k miles for $17,995. Yes that mileage is high, but I'm not planning on driving the car everyday. I'd maybe put 10k miles on the car per year, so over 5 years that average would be back down to 13-14k miles/year.

I'm actually going to call about this 2011 LTZ today just as another option. I want to lay out as many options as possible to see what works best.

Space 12-21-2012 08:46 AM

Hi `Matt,
It's great to read that you are taking your time & exploring your options...I would also check on sites like www.cars.com & www.autotrader.com for the Cruze or other used low miled similar rides in your area of Michigan...

Wish you good luck on getting what you will like & enjoy driving 4-Sure...Keep us updated `OK...

Good Morning all, we are still here in Indiana...
School canceled but unsure why. 2" of snow but only a dusting I see. Probably due to End of Days. Hunter has been worried about that all year.
Getting ready to head down and talk to Enterprise about renting a car. Would rather have a Charger over the Impala, but either is fine. Impala most likely better on gas. Will make a difference in a 2500 mile trip. Then to do my shopping, what little that is:)
Enjoy the day..

Could just be because of the shooting last week. A lot of schools around here are closed today because of threats.

Maybe they just saw the snow as a good excuse to just randomly close the school today.

Hoping for at least high 60's and 70's. We wont be there till next Thursday so the weather can change for sure by then. If I see it will be cold, I will cancel and go to Pennsylvania to ski resort.. If its cold, I might as well tube down a hill.....

Wow Rick. Have you been taking posting lessons from Space and I? Usually takes me two paragraphs just to say hello.

Sorry about that Taz. But it pisses me off that some kuncklehead puts fears into kids like that! Kids have it rough enough without some other senseless bull sh** added to it. Even some adults were scared about this. I never brough it up at work. But I heard a lot of people old & young that were some what worried about it! Don't mean to beat the drums. Its just gets too me at times.

HI MATT: Ok if I added it up right. Your going to spend about 15,000 for 3 yrs. Down payment, lease payment & insurance. Then at the end of the 3 yrs you have nothing! You turn the car in and walk away with ??? Just money out the window. If you bought one. Then at least you could sell and get something for it. $$ Back in your pocket. 2 reason I don't lease a car. At the end you walk out with the same thing you walked in with. NOTHING. 2nd putting $$ down, is Bull. I know even Volkswagon has a No $$ out of pocket lease. Some American cars do that at the end of the model yrs. To move car that are coming in. I'm not trying to stop you from doing what you think is best for you. Just saying how I feel about it. GOOD LUCK :)

Hi All!!!!

IDK about all of you, but I have a ton to do at work, but am really having a hard time doing it. Today and Monday will be tough to get through at work, as everyone is gearing down for the holiday. That said, i'll pull it together and get things done. :)

The Monte flipped 165K last night on the way home...oh how the mileage is piling up again. 950 miles in a week and a half.

Have a good day everyone!
