Mornin guys. Still waiting on results. I'll call again tomorrow to see. Still need to go look at that 03 Z71 but I'm still hunting for a Titan. The downside of getting a 1/2 ton GM is I'd be tempted to pull the 5.3 to drop a 6.0. The 5.3 just leaves a bit to be desired as is.
Anyway, hope y'all are having a good one.

I have a 5.3. In my 2004 Z-71 Silverado.
I have no problem towing with it nor do I have an issue with mileage..
I actually get excellent mileage with mine...Whether I'm towing or not.
However, I noticed the difference between mine and others ...
Mine has a manual Transfer case for engageing the 4wd. VS others have the push button 4wd.
I absolutely love mine.. It does everything I want and then some!
I have a friend that has a 2500 series dodge Ram... and he can hardly pull his 25ft trailer (Camper). I out run and pull him pulling my 30ft Camper!
. and that's just in Michigan! Most EV1 I encounter when we travel the country, 95% of Campers use a Silverado. Go figure...lol So I guess you could say it vehicle of choice? the 5.3 like the 327's of old have lots of torque. In my opinion... I don't understand why youd swap out a perfectly good 5.3 to put in a 6.0. ... What do you expect to be towing around?
How much towing capacity do you need?
Hoping today finds EV1 well. Its going to be a windy chilly day today. (Good thing I cut my lawn yesterday) Before the rain showed up!

Good morning everyone. Another day of school for me. No work later so at least I can have a decent Friday night except for having to get up early tomorrow morning but oh well. I pretty much work during the day this weekend so I may actually be able to do things in the evening instead of being at work. Have a great Friday forum.

David, I need to be able to haul hay with it. Fuel mileage isn't that big of an issue for me as I don't drive all that far to work. If I could find one that I could afford I'd grab a 3/4 ton with the big block or diesel, but the diesel is out of my price range and it's next to impossible to find an 8.1 that someone is actually willing to sell.
