I understand what you're saying. But something to keep in mind is a lot of people don't own the house they live in. But they do own their car.

Some people figure, "why should I spend my money on improving my landlord's house? He'll raise my rent if I make it look better."

I know a few people who have that philosophy. There's also a couple houses in my neighbourhood that are like that. Unfortunately the landlords don't seem to care about how bad the houses looks either. As long as they get their rent.

So I can see people being more willing to spend money on their ride than the house they're renting.

thats not nice to say at all. people should be able to do what they want with a car they worked for. good things will never come to people who act as you do its all about the love you have for your car not how you choose to dress it up. kid or adult you choose.
