Don't count on it.

Example. the '55/6/7 Chevies. there are cars being saved today that 20 - 25 years ago would have gotten crushed. It takes a lot for one to get scrapped these days. With the price of 2-doors getting to be out of reach of a lot of people, even the 4-doors are better then nothing. And I've seen some pretty cool 4-doors. The guys from Australia are perfect examples of what a 4-door Tri-5 Chevy can be built to look like.

Ryan, you should still try to save the Bumper. The guys that are into building Rat rods would love it. Heck, even if someone that is looking for a bumper can get it have it repaired.

I say its still worth a bit of $$$$

heck, i know the pink '57 we cut up for parts was WAY more saveable than some magazine builds i've seen scince! but tri 5 chevy's are what EVERYONE loves.... a '56 mercury.... not so much.... lol. even though its a way cool car, it definitly qualifys as grey market, and even though i could see a mercury guy mabe going up and picking parts off of it i doubt they would even get it out of there in one piece even if they tried. although im sure a mercury 2 door sedan is rare as hell....

i remember me & my dad found a '56 ford fairlane WAY up in the woods over on state gameland in jersey, the car was even worse than that mercury, but the bumpers were in VERY nice condidion ( the chrome wasint even flaking off). we were trying to figure out how we could dig out under them to unbolt or hacksaw them off of the frame, scince the car had sunk down to the doorbottems in the ground, so i knelt down leaning on the rear bumper and heard a little "Tink" noise, turned out the end of the frame had rotted compleatly off so the bumper was just setting there. amazingly same with the front bumper! sold the front to a family friend about a year ago, the rear'll be going to the swap meet this year

I'm going in after it! Most of that will buff right off... a set of Cragers and she'll be good to go. A set of points, a coil, and some carbureator cleaner... we'll be good to go.

I'm surprised you went through all that trouble looking for it. There used ot be a car in Danville that was some Chrysler from the late 70's and had a busch growing through it. Back at that time, the NASCAR Nationwide series was the Busch Series.. and we always called that the "Bush" car.

a good battery and some gas down the carb and she'll fire right up! might need some air in the tires.... actually might need 3 tires... lol. i had that same discussion with my dad when we went up there
