On to 200,000 indeed!

I'm not 100% how much I will get out of this engine, so I am saving up for a second car right now this way (if anything happens) I can take the Monte off the road for a month and slowly put in a new engine and transfer mods.

That's crazy. More crazy is just how nice your car is for being as old and used as it is. You really know how to care for a car, and I'm sure that translates well into other things in your life.

It's done Mike, been a great ride, but 175K and it stalled, it's over. Just unbolt that sweet spoiler, box it up and ship to me and scrap the rest!
HAHA! Just kidding man.

Sorry to hear about the stall, but I'm sure it can be easily over come. I think I can 1-up you.... My '94 Grand Am crossed 200K over this past summer. The day it did, I got home from work and heard a hissing followed by a loud "pop" and ALL my hot coolant flowing out of the car! The plastic inlet/outlet tubes on my heater core blew right in my driveway! Luckily, I've worked on enough mid 90's N-bodies, this was an easy job (my 3rd or 4th time doing this), just take out the center console. And GM designed it so if the core did blow, the coolant does NOT get on your interior, it floods out the condensation drain on the firewall.

Best of luck resolving the stalling issue. I'm sure it's nothing too severe.

LOL, is that all you want off the car? :P

Car started up no problem this morning as I warmed it up and cleaned some snow off it.

Shut it off, Gonna try a hot restart soon when I go grocery shopping.

bought my car with 140,000 on it...got the oil changed right away, and got the top of the motor redone...so mine has a 50,000 mile warranty on it...that includes the tranny because the mechanic checked it and quoted me 50,000 miles without a problem...so yeah, im definitely good until 190,000 miles, hopefully it will go to 250,000 miles. im hoping i wont have more than 175,000 miles on it when i graduate high school.

my dads camaro was bought by us in 2006 with 175,000 miles on it...it now has almost 200,000 miles...when you get going about 85 it feels like your driving on ice, hopefully we can refurbish the entire car, it is well worth it. but if we did refurbish that im sure the car would keep going into 350,000 miles without another problem...and if we did refurbish it, we would keep the current miles just to be funny and see how many total miles the car as on it.

Wow. 175,000! That's great. I've heard those motors can go 200 - 250K with good care. Mileage really doesn't mean that much - If the car has had great care. My '98
LS 3.1 has 106,000 on it & it purrs like a kitten! Hope it makes it to 175 & beyound!

-Mark.
