Oh OK! We called it Retarding or Advancing the Timing back in the days of Distributors. Since the timing is controlled by the computer now a days that makes sense. Thanks for the Clarification Keane!
well personally i seen no difference, i normally use 87 and i used 93 just to see the difference, but with the use of my app the tracks all data of the car there was really no differencee but dont hurt to try to see results
so 89 made the low end torque much stronger but it made the engine run warmer than normal so probably not safe to run it. I put in a spectre knock off K&N style filter ($20) so far so good even get the CAI sucking noise






it doesn't really matter the octane you are running. most cars anymore operate perfectly fine on 87. that's what the computer is designed to run on. if your car is detonating on 87 octane, there is a problem somewhere. using 93 octane is a big waster of money and won't really make the car run any better and/or worse. as for transmission shifting, if the engine isn't running correctly, neither is the transmission in most cases. the transmission will shift when the pcm tells it to, depending on engine load, timing etc
