Thanks for the support. It's very kind of everyone.
Hopefully there's a medication that can help in my dad's situation. I know my girlfriend Debbie's dad is on medication for a similar problem. But her dad thinks it's 1970. He can remember sharp details from 40 years ago. My dad isn't that bad. But little is known at this stage.

-> RJ: My thoughts are with you RJ for your dad.. good luck. My dad recently had a small stroke too, fortunately it was minor (as strokes go) and he was able to recover pretty much in full, but it was a reminder that my 'Superman' wasn't quite rock and steel any more. What sucks is my family is still in Indiana and I haven't got to see them in years (we talk almost daily though). To all, make the most of it while you can.
My girlfriend Debbie is going through something similar. With her brother dragging their dad out to Colorado and then sticking in a nursing home. There's little chance Debbie will see her dad again until it's too late. It was completely infair her brother did this. If it were my family they would certainly know my feelings. But Debbie keeps it bottled up inside. (not good to do)
She can speak to her dad on the phone. but it's not quite like seeing the person's face.
Before her mom passed last june, they spoke almost daily. So it's quite a loss to Debbie.

Thanks Mel, for sharing your words of wisdom...I was sorry to read about the loss of your parents, but
it's just a reminder that we all will fade in time...We must make the most of our present, our life & love the ones we love ~> NOW !!

Happy Father's Day to you & all our MCF Father's...
We can never take Life 4-granted or those that we love.

What `if ?

Sorry I missed this thread earlier.

RJ: My thoughts and prayers are with you and your father on this father's day.

I want to wish all the dads, and future dads out there a Happy Father's Day. Feliz Día del Padre.

And here's another Father's Day one with a little eye candy for the ladies on the forum. (enjoy it, you rarely see this on MCF)

Father's Day Prayer

Thank you,
friend Jesus,
for my father
who loves me,
for my grandfather
who cares for me
and for God,
my eternal father,
who made me
and is always with me.

I too lost my father when I was only 16. That has been many many years ago. So as said "enjoy the time you have and respect them.
