I had a supervisor that when things went catastrophically wrong, he would brush it off and say "Itll be fine"

my mother taught me "today is a gift, that is why we cal it the present"

when i get frustrated working on a car because a part wont go in right or come apart, my uncle say "sit down and think about what you forgot"
wouldnt ever tell me what it is i forgot, just to think about it

My upbringing was in a very strict home (Dad was a Baptist deacon)

The Navy really raised me in the practical ways of living. Master Chief always told me

"Any job work doing is worth doing right" , "Take pride in your work" "when you look back at your time in the Service, your performance should make you proud not ashamed"

Master Chief was a tough dude but we all respected him, loved him and knew he had our back.
