Cool FAKE cherry bomb (DIPPED RESONATOR)

Anyone ever notice the resonators on our cars look just like a glasspack?

So off I went to home depot to buy a can of RED plastidip.
This is how it looked masked with 1 coat of dip.

Then the final product. I'm in love with the look.

The color is even brighter in person

if it holds up, you could be on to a good money making idea there I'm sure you would find lots of people that would pay extra for a resonator if it was painted to match their car, or done up like yours so it looks like a thrush.

but if you do decide to go with the idea, I would like a percentage as I thought of it but would be more than willing to assist

I'm purely speculating on this one, but with our cars we have the ground effects kit that basically blocks the view of our resonators as you are walking up towards the car. With tps221's car you can see the resonator as you approach, which as we are all aware after a while of driving they don't look shiny anymore and basically just look like a brown and black cannister hanging under your car. This is a cheap method of dressing up something that some may think is an eye sore.

Again just speculating on why tps did this, but that is the most logical response for a reason I could come up with

I believe dip is rated up to 200F. I imagine the exhaust could get this hot, but I bet it'll last for a while.

That hangs awfully low to the ground...replace the hangers and it would probably be tucked up under the car where it's supposed to be.

the hangers seem fine but it has always been that way. i did it mainly because i want a glasspack but massachusetts does not allow exhaust modifications. I was playing with the idea the past few days and i was just bored in my dorm room and decided what the hell. also kind of gives me an idea of what a cherry bomb would look like on the car in case i decide its time to to upgrade and take a risk of a ticket. I'll also find out if cops would give me a hard time if i had a red vs metal. I like the look and will be talking to paul to see if we can do something with a glasspack or not. maybe a well hidden electric cut off before the muffler and a a glasspack in place of the resonator. Bottom line after much research it seems glasspacks and resonators are essentially one in the same. therefore it should be legal for me to put one on but i would not receive much gain.
