when i purchased my 06 LT, 2 weeks ago, i wanted a warranty, the guy gave me 48 month powertrain for $1500, do i really need this? i may be able to cancel it. i haven't received any papers in the mail about anything (payments, warranty etc.) if i pay for this warranty i will not be able to make any modifications on my car. does anyone here have any ideas on warranties on used cars, let me know if you do, thanks

Definetly keep it. Never know when something strange happens, like if somehow the tranny blows or the engine. Your $1500 will save you alot of money.

 

i might want to make some minor modifications, such as exhaust, not anything major, but not sure what i can do with the warranty i purchased, thanks for responding!

I bought an extended when I purchased my '06. On april, 11th they say my factory warranty ran out. So now i'll find out just how good (or not) this extended is?

The sales manager swore to me this extended is almost as good as the factory. but he told me a few other things I found out simply were not true.

I did have the option of cancelling the extended but I decided to keep it. Cause you never know.

Mine was $1700 on top of the cost of the car in october, 2006.

 

i don't believe anything after market would be covered under a warranty. that's what my dad does for a living (warranty inspections) and he denies anything aftermarket.
