Would you be willing to help us plan the future of The Peace Alliance?
Given the growth and demonstrated efficacy of peacebuilding efforts, interest from policymakers in DC, and our grassroots advocacy over the last six years, the time is ripe to make significant, concrete, positive change. Over the course of the last year our staff, board and many in our grassroots have been crafting a draft strategic plan for 2009/2011 that we think will take peacebuilding work to a new level of influence in our government and society. We are ready to share the draft plan with you and hope to get your input. With your help, we can ensure that this plan is something that is both bold and focused; guiding us to maximize our impact both locally and nationally. To mainstream peacemaking throughout our government and our society, every single one of us will need to play a role. Please join this process and help guide the future of the modern peace movement.
DoPeace With Us
We're thrilled to announce the launch of DoPeace, our online community of, by and for volunteers with The Peace Alliance, Student Peace Alliance and the Campaign for a U.S. Department of Peace. At DoPeace, we come together to celebrate, support and foster effective and FUN citizen-based peace activism.
Online networking is a powerful and proven tool for effective grassroots organizing. By participating in the community, you can reach beyond geographic boundaries and time zones to connect with new people, share great ideas, increase our impact and grow the campaign. Youth PROMISE Act
Our commitment to our nation's most vulnerable
On Friday, February 13, 2009, Congressman Bobby Scott (D-VA-03) and Congressman Mike Castle (R-DE-AL) re-introduced the Youth Prison Reduction through Opportunity, Mentoring, Intervention, Support and Education, or Youth PROMISE Act. Companion legislation was also introduced in the US Senate by Senators Robert Casey (D-PA) and Olympia Snowe (R-ME). The Peace Alliance is excited to announce we have officially decided to include this piece of legislation as one of the items we are encouraging our network to support. Learn more...
ALERT: The Youth PROMISE Act now has over 200 co-sponsors! In just the past six-weeks, there has been a rush of support that has brought on 119 new co-sponsors, including 16 Republicans.

I wish true peace was possible. Unfortunately there are people who live and breed violence and can not be defeated by peace alone. Maybe one day there will be peace, but I see decades of religious and ethnic wars in our future.

i was pulling rags out of the box i have today, they are all old T-shirts, ect, so i pull this one out, it was the front of a white t- shirt that said "make music, not war" and had a big peace symbol on it.... i stuck it up on the wall in the shop too neat to use on my tires, lol

You know the saying, without evil there would be no good.
We are stuck with what we have, but we have to just make the most of it. If we each do our part to live peacefully, we will hopefully overwhelm the people who choose not to. We may not always be at peace, but at least we can do what we can!
