So the DMC-12 is still alive! Looks like after the original DeLorean Motor Company went out of business, someone else bought the name, began restoring DeLoreans and making new ones....

NOW, they are updating it with something Marty could have really used!! It's going electric. Combine that with good ol' Mr. Fusion and Marty would have had it made!!

Now that is an electric car i would be, forget the leaf, volt, prius or anything else:p I keep seeing little things about a Delorean company still around restoring originals and its great to see they're still around.

Ikn someone owned the origonal leftovers & had been making new ones for awhile but didnt know they were goin electric prob has more power with electric than the origonal

 

There's an original DMC-12 in my neighborhood. It just sits in the driveway....

I saw an article about this new Delorean Motor Company and it was admitted if it was not for the fame from the Back to the Future movies, they feel the DMC-12 would be a dead issue long ago. But it's those movies keeping it fresh to people.

 

I seen this today too. I'm not sure I would spend that kind of money for it tho.

 

I was surprised to learn from The Car Show how gutless the original DeLoreans were. With a top speed of only 85mph.

 

Now you know why Doc Brown has a digital speedometer read out for going 88MPH.

Great looking car, but fails on the proper performance. But looking at the info about the electric powered motor, this is no slouch..... But sadly, it takes real DEEP pockets to afford.

I also think it would be nice if this DeLorean Motor Company could make a new body style DeLorean, update the good ol' DMC-12....
