Good Wednesday morning to all. Hump day, weekend getting close. Everyone ready for Easter? Got your eggs hid or are they all in one basket? Nasty weather rolled through last night as I am sure alot of us experienced it. Crazy weather, doesn't look like we had any localized damage. They were talking possible large hail and my car was out due to the fact my uncles Vette is still in my garage. He will hopefully be taking it home today so the Monte can resume residence there. Gotta stop by the license branch on my way home. They have a snafu with the paperwork when I was there last week. They owe me $120 and wont gie it back till they get my old plates which they didnt mention then. after that a trip to Firestone to recheck my balance on tires. fun day. Have a good day all!

I know it difficult to drive a Monte slow, but if you want better fuel miles, you must try to drive like there's a fresh egg between your right foot & the gas pedal On`no

Jon, I would bet your Monte is getting the normal mileage you can expect from these cars or any other car in its class. They do excellent on the highway when you keep your foot out of it. But around town driving, you are going to start seeing high teens, low twenties. And that depends on how you accelerate/ coast, etc. Driving style makes all the difference in the world for gas mileage. If you want the best mileage, drive like space said, as if there is an egg on the gas pedal, and coast as much as possible between lights/ etc...But don't expect much over 22 MPG in the city, even driving it easy. Get it on the hwy and you can expect 30 MPG if you drive it easy and not much over 70 MPH. With mixed city/ hwy driving, and drving it easy you should expect about 24 MPG average (give or take depending on how much city or hwy driving is mixed in). You are the only one that knows where you drive and how you are driving the car, but you should be able to judge how you drive it/ where you drive it and compair to your mileage. If you're in the ball park, you are fine....ball park ranges from 18-32 MPG, just depends on your driving habbits. If you're way off, or getting low low numbers even with ALL highway driving, then a tune up is the first place i'd start.
