Hey everyone. I'm making this thread to give you information on the 2011 Monte Nationals in York, PA and to see who plans on going. I will keep this post up-to-date with who plans to attend. Just post that you are going, AFTER you register to the event.

You MUST be a member of the National Monte Carlo Owners Association in order to attend the event. So please sign up ASAP if you plan on going. It costs $35/year to be a member. The Monte Nationals take place this year on June 24th, 25th, and 26th.

YOU MUST HAVE A FIRE EXTINGUISHER TO BE ON THE SHOWFIELD
The fire extinguisher must be visible in/with your Monte, UL approved or equivalent, and fully charged.
The extinguisher need not be permanently mounted, but must be clearly visible and readily available.

Registration fee is $35 US Funds, Check, or Visa, MC, Discover
($65 for two cars, $90 for three cars – Member Owned Monte driven by immediate family members)
If paid by May 1, 2011 – You will receive a “Participation Award”
No Refunds after May 1, 2011
All Registrations Must Be Postmarked on or before June 1, 2011
All others must register at the show!!!

 

Not sure if I want to do that or the GM Nationals. Wish I could do both....

 

Is there a deadline to join/register for the event? I can't register right now, because I'll be working unless I get a new job before then. I have an interview Monday, wish me luck.

 

If you are serious about going to this - I would reserve a room at the host hotel now because it sells out fast. I got lucky when I went to nationals last year. Someone canceled their room and I snatched it. You can always cancel it if you can't attend. You can also post on the NMCOA forum and I'm sure someone will take your reservation off of you.

 

Added registration date information. If you register by May 1st, then you can receive a Participation Award (along with the plaque you receive)

Are you required to stay at the host hotel? I probably won't be able to attend Friday even if I can go, so I'll only need Saturday night. My nephew lives not too far away and I can probably spend a night there. We'll see, its totally up in the air right now. I'll know more after my job interview Monday, though. If I'm still at my current job, the only day I could attend would be Friday and that's hardly worth it.

 

I'm only going for Saturday, but it says you need to sign-in before 11am. You would have to ask the administrator of the NMCOA if you could show up after.

 

You know I'll be at the gm nats, but I do have a question about this:

Is this new?? When I went in 2008 this was not a nessessity...so every car needs a fire extinguisher now?

It appears to be a new rule. Something I've been wanting to get for my Monte anyway, so now I have a reason to.
