Default 8 minutes

4 miles, 2 stop lights, 8 minutes total. But besides that I'll usually commute 150 miles a week cruising around, or going to other places. It adds up fast, and the mileage is starting to make me nervous.

Don't expect to get anything as far as Cash For Clunkers go for your old car.

Saw a car dealer they had on the noon news a few minutes ago. The owner said Uncle Obama owns her dealership $5 mil for the cars they've taken in. (FIVE MILLION DOLLARS)

The owner stated they weren't going to take any more cars/trucks in on the Cash For Clunkers program.

I'm not planning on selling my Monte anytime soon...and it certainly is not a clunker, its worth 3 times the clunker offerings.

I have a 5 year loan of the Monte, so I still owe on it till June of 2012...at the rate i'm going, i'll have between 150,000-175,000 miles on my Monte by the time its paid for...But i'll continue to drive it after that too. I'm hoping to get over 200K on my car. And I'm pretty sure it will do it.

Hmmm, well during the summer when I'm working I have a .4 mile drive on a gravel road to the highway, then about 5 miles to the parking lot and if it's my turn to drive out to work then it's another 60 miles. Usually leave home at 5:50 and get to work around 7.

My commute is about 24 miles and takes around 30 minutes. I don't make any stops on the way to work.

Do you really expect your Monte to last that long, Michael? I wish I could say I had the same confidence in mine, but the way things have gone so far, I'm just hoping I can get to 100K without any major problems!
I've had more problems with my Monte under 56,000 miles than I had with my last Honda with over 189,000 miles on it! I hate to have to knock an American car, but none of the Toyotas or Hondas I owned before this gave me as much trouble in all the years I owned them (as long as 11 years for my last Honda) as this Monte Carlo has given me in just the 2 yrs I've had it.
I think the guys that put my car together must have done it on a Friday afternoon... before a holiday weekend!

Remember, NO American made car is specifically made in the U.S. of A. anymore. All of them get parts from all over the world. Montes were made in Canada not the U.S. by the way. And the engines came from Mexico.

Just as Hondas and Toyotas have assembly plants (no production in this country) here in the U.S. So the fact you had good experience with one of these could very well mean.... "Thanks to the workers in the U.S. of A."

I am curious as to what problems you had with your 3LT Monte? My LTZ is no where near 50,000 miles and other then a recurring battery problem the car has been great.
