I use the front cup holder for my phone haha. Ever hit a bump with a can of pop in the cup holders of a 2000 silverado. there it goes all over the dash.

I use the front cup holder to cage my Animal (from the muppets) antenna ball LOL!!!!! I had him on my XM antenna and he flew off - after I picked him back up I banished him to the cup holder - I'll snap a pick tomorrow.

I told my son when he complained about the single inadequate cupholder in the '95 Firebird, "If ya want cupholders get a minivan! The Firebird is to DRIVE"

I hear ya'... I usually don't use cup holders for their intended purpose anyhow. Car isn't a restaurant it's transportation. If there is a drink in the car it's usually a 24oz bottle with the top screwed on tight... just in case!

BTW:Front cupholder use:

My 7th gen holders are ideal. Eating and drinking is strictly verboten in my car, so the smaller front holder perfectly keeps my 60 piece orbit gum container in check. The back holder was made for my iPhone I think.

Yep I agree mine are holders for trivial things other than cups. Keep a bottle with the lid on laying on the passenger seat. I have had one too many accidents... Seems to be a common issue with almost all vehicles. I always thought I would pay extra for a car that had GREAT cup holders. I mean how difficult can it be to design a deep cup holder with a sponge pad bottom.

If only all bottles were like these. I would suggest them to any monte owner!

i dont allow anyone to eat or drink in my car. but its annoying when you make a sharp turn and your 24oz DEW flies into the passenger floor. but no mess is every made just a hassle

We don't eat in either my cars either. But it's nice to have a cold drink while your driving. All I want is for the drink to stay in the cup holder. In my 70 Chevelle. There are NON!! They never had them back then. So when in there. The drink goes on the passenger seat. I always have a towel on that seat to keep my water & phone from sliding off. But I never make fast turns or stops in that car. Seems it's always going faster forward so they stay put!!!! ha ha
