in iowa they plaster the roads with that crap. it works great if you drive alot and dont really care about your car but i cant even bring myself to drive my car down the highway after they plaster the road with brine

The salt eats up a car from the bottom up. Eventually it makes the car unsafe on many levels. I thought when I came to Florida I would not have to deal with rust again. Down here the cars rust from the top down. The interiors and the soft parts as well as the paint take a beating from the sun.
After living in Florida for a while, when the temps drop below 70 I want a sweater and anything below 40 is frigid. The humidity here makes the heat feel hotter (we have heat index which is similar to wind chill) and it makes the cold feel colder. The traffic here bites. You can't get anywhere fast. There is a lot of gridlock and there doesn't seem like a lot of thought was put into the road design and systems. The crime rate is high here and the cops come out of the wood work. There are tons of bugs all year. There is also lots of wild life. For a car guy there is always something going on all year. We don't turn on the heat often but run the A/C a lot. There are not a lot of high paying jobs here but high pay is anything over 18 bucks an hour. They do exist though. Business ethics don't exist here. You have to have a signed contract on everything to protect yourself. There are plenty of houses for sale. Come on down and check it out if you are tired of the cold.
