As much as I am a GM fan-boy, I liked a certain generation Eclipse (I think it began in 2000). I know, I know, let the rice jokes come out 
The redesigned body was a nice little coupe. Sadly, around my location it's known to be a bit of a "chick's car" (hey, oddly your girlfriend currently owns it lol).
When I looked to replace my '94 Grand Am with something else so I could still park the Monte for the winter, I was considering an Eclipse if I could find one cheap enough with a stick shift. Sadly any that cheap were monster high miles and rust buckets. My other problem was, with the money I had to buy another car, if I was going to buy something that might need a bunch of work, I'd rather invest in something I am VERY familiar with.
Hopefully selling her car will go smooth for you both!
