Pretty soon im gonna be in the market for another car. I want to pick something with a standard tranny so i can teach myself. Many people said they'd teach me but no one came through so i'll do it myself My question is, what car to get. I'm looking to spend $1000 or less and im curious what cars people think i should get. Thanks guys

90-94 z24 3.1L cavalier 5sp, they are nice cars, decent getup and go, and pretty reliable, not to mention they look pretty darn good for an early 90's car

there's always the curvy kia built chevy cavaliers that are manual... but that ecotec 2.2 is... lacking in power and that's putting it nicely

I actually really like the older cavaliers. Only issue would be finding one and one with in my price range. My goal was to get a car drive it for a while and then got rid of it. But if i get something nice that plan might change lol. Nice blue z24 would be awesome

A thousand dollar car is kinda hard to come by in my area. Most of them are complete junk. I hope you can find something nice.

Anything with a manual for that price :p

If it's just a beater, who cares what it is. But $1000 isn't going to get you anything too nice.

Hi `Keane,
It's difficult to find a running car for $1K or under...You were very lucky to find a super deal on your Monte Carlo 4-Sure..

Whatever you decide, I would find one that parts are not to high...A few of the BeachBum's purchased low $ rides, but they were constantly repairing them & in the long run they wished that they would saved more & got something with less miles & more reliability...

Craigslist is a good site to find low prices..., but make sure you really check them out b-4 you give them any $'s...
(There's so many out there that are not truthful when it comes to selling their cars or anything they have 4-Sale)
Wish you good luck in your search & find...
