Todd, I voted for #2. The first thing that caught my attention was the 'assault rifle' graphic in the others. That's a sensitive subject with lots of folks, even among outdoor sporting / gun fans. My thinking is that you don't want something controversial in a business logo.

I think you can drop the whole left side of the logo, just have the bullet hole ridden Ochoco
in the same gradient as #3 (of the new)

Also, what's with the alignment of sporting goods? I don't see what anything is lined up against.

 

Mike, you are right, the sporting goods is off just a hair. Its not centered below the Ochoco.
