Default Burnout contest

The car show I am entered into this week-end is having a burn-out contest. Although I don't expect to win, I'd like to enter. However I am reading all the nasty stuff that can happen to your car by doing so...blown tires, damage to the rims, blown tranie ect... Has anyone ever participated in one of these contests and if so what where your results?

Thanks Chi, you kind of confirmed my thoughts.

I agree- the LS4's are notorious enough for destroying transmissions just with normal driving, IMO- its just not worth the minute or two of fun for the potential thousands of dollars in trans damage.

I've seen blown tranny's, blown engines. In addition to the fact you'd have to stop at the nearest tire shop and buy two new tires.

Plus, like Mike said, you're driving an automatic FWD. So you're already at a disadvantage.

For as fun as it'd be to do, i don't think i'd do it either. It'd be cool to be one of the few doing a FWD burnout. . . and for a couple seconds i could see--but a couple minutes is a different story. If you do--good luck!
