Default A bit POed right now

Have had a battery drain recently. Had a friend check it out, thought it was the BCM. Called the dealer, they said if they misdiagnose it it was on them, so I said fine, diagnose it. Came back, also said bcm so replaced it. Guess what? It's dead again!!! Supposedly they checked with the new bcm and said there was no drain showing after the repair and I bet when I take it back, it'll conveniently have a new drain from something else and they'll say they didn't misdiagnose.

Sure don't. The battery is brand new. Replaced a 7 month old battery due to it not taking a charge. Drove on this one a time or two and was dead, charged it, started right back up, left it connected over a night or two, dead. Disconnected the battery for over a week, hooked it up and drove it to the dealer, drove it from dealer to walmart, then home Friday. It sat Saturday, tried to start it today, barely had any lights it was so weak. Have the charger on it now.

Called the dealer this morning, taking it back in in the morning. I asked if they were going to charge me again and he said no. We'll see what happens now.

Has the altenator been tested?? Perhaps it's not properly charging the battery.

Another issue, are the batter connectors and bolts clean of corrosion? I was dealing with a car that would intermittantly NOT start. The battery bolt for the positive terminal was damaged and you could not properly tighten it on the car. Replaced with a new bolt, used a wire brush on the connecting terminals (battery and wire side). No more problem.

Alternator was tested not long ago and the terminals are clean. It drains while sitting over a night or two.

I'm Old School. Sounds like Internal Voltage regulator is outta wack & overcharging the battery - making it act like it's dead...?? Could be a Body ground connection has been lost ??

Not "acting" dead, it is dead. You can put it on a battery charger and it shows dead until charged. Could still be one of those issues though I suppose, but like I said it does kill the battery.

Taz, they called yesterday evening and said it's looking like it might be the data supply to the radio. They said the draw was jumping around (?), weird. They called someone (radio manufacturer, I think) and they told them of some other tests they can run on it. Dealer said they've never seen this problem before - leave it to me, LOL. The radio has acted weird off and on since shortly after I got it. It used to get stuck in clock mode and all buttons (including steering wheel radio controls) would quit functioning, only the dials would work. Then it straightened up for about a year. Right before the battery started being drained, it got stuck in scan mode, which it still is, same thing no buttons work - except if you hold down the eject button it will quit scanning, as long as you continue holding it down. We jokingly say it's haunted but sometimes I do wonder......

Sounds like you may have found the issue. I hate chasing down electrical problems.
