well i am back again after a long break from here. Me and my husband were blessed with a baby boy on may 16, 2015 @ 4:56am. He was 6lbs 12oz 19.5inches long. his name is Chase Alexander. But i am back on here and will start to mod the monte again slowly. My husband wants to buy a grand prix gtp since he loves having 4 door cars. He bought a 08 infiniti g35x as a nice upgrade from his honda. He wanted something more reliable. We have since put on a 3inch catless dp and a zzp 1.0 pcm. My husband wants to do a custom CAI for it to keep the factory air box to keep the pcm covered. I want to drop a pulley size but am unsure of what size to get with a CAI, DP, PCM, PLUGS, TSTAT. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance

Welcome back and congrats on the little one!

As for a pulley size drop, the best you'll be able to do is a 3.4/3.5" (depending where you buy from 3.4" may be the largest option). If they offer a 3.5", id go that route until you have more mods. Most places don't offer anything bigger than that.

Ideally, you would want to scan the car to see how much KR it has. It is possible that the car may have some even now depending on mileage and condition. If it has too much now, then swapping pullies won't add power, and could hurt the engine if you go too small.

If you absolutely had to swap pullies and had no way to get a scanner, id just get a 3.4 or 3.5 and think about adding some more mods in the near future like headers or a plog.

Welcome back. Congratulations on the baby.
The Infinite g35 is really nice. I'm sure he'll enjoy it. A Pontiac Grand Prix GTP is a nice choice. But have you considered it's replacement, the Pontiac G8? It's available in a V8 option, more up to date, and really popular so there is some after market options out there.

It nice to hear you still have the Dale Jr edition, and are getting the modding bug for it. I was also thinking of doing some kind of custom CAI using the stock airbox, for the same reason you mentioned. But then real life happened, and the modding fund turned into a mortgage payment fund.
