i understand that...the people you mentioned were not as bad as people like 50 cent or tupac who glorify urban violence, but at the same time, even the non-gangsta rappers are constantly making light of personal strife. i think its all a bit pointless...i listen to rap because of the bass...and i have a big system. i dont listen to any of the crap theyre trying to promote.
I've said my piece on the subject.

So what does your big system consist of?

Damn, I guess when you don't come on for a while, things change really fast, but i somewhat agree with patrick. I listen to rap because of the bass, and even then i dont listen to it that much, but on the rare occasion i do listen to it, i dont think i even pay attention to the words because they are all the same. im not saying they are all bad, just the same.

Different strokes for different folks

I know I didn't like stuff like Metallica and Pappa Roach, and Disturbed for the longest time, I thought it was just a bunch of devil worshippers screaming into the mic as they are on their trip(from thier drug of choice). But after a while it grew on me, not because I can relate to what they're saying(cause half the time I can't even understand what they say) but these groups put out good music. I can't listen to either of their cd's from beginning to end, but I like some songs from them. As long as it gets my head noddin', I like it.

That's one type of music I can't stomach much of. I don't know if you would consider, dammit lost her name, she sings "How can I live without you" I absolutely love that song! I recorded it onto minidisc and used to bump it in my Civic, the best sounding song I ever played on that system, no doubt!

Hmm...Yeah i would probably say that's country, but again it comes back to that thing about loving some songs of a certain genre, but despising others, its all in taste man and i respect that.

But in general, country gets no play on my stereo. I've heard enough about the dog running away, the truck breaking down and the trailer door being stuck, im good.
