Well, I know Dale Earnhardt Chevrolet did customize a select number of Montes. Mostly 5th gens though. Dale even signed them. They usually got leather interiors.

The maroon cloth interior of that aerocoupe just doesn't look like something DE Chevrolet would've done with a black and silver exterior.

Plus the only reference to Dale or #3 in that entire car, is the floor mats. Which look like they came from an autoparts store.

Cool car. Even if the interior doesn't match. But I'm going to go out on a limb and say Dale Earnhardt Chevrolet had nothing to do with it. Not when the car was brand new. The dealership didn't exist until July 1987.

I love the Aero Coupe and I love this one too. Lou all the RCR Goodwrench cars that I have seen had red interiors so this car would be correct with a red or maroon interior.

Okay. I'll take your word for it. Just seems like an odd color combination to me.

Hi `Jerry, Thanks for finding & sharing...
It's a sweet rare ride for a decent asking price of $10K with only 55K miles....I don't know `if it's a factory production or a dealer mod (?), but it looks like it's done right & super nice...

I have to remember to get another lotto ticket & pray to the Lotto Gods 4-Sure... I think one of our rich member's should buy it & give us all a drive & ride 4-Sure ~>

When I lived in Kissimmee Florida there was a guy that had one that had the #3 and all the sponsor decals and wheel that looked like the NASCAR wheels. He had it done himself and it really looked awesome.

I doubt that this car was done by Dale Earnhardt Chevrolet because the timing is wrong. The last 87 would have been built in July 87. August 87 the 88's would start down the assembly line and it takes a dealer about six weeks from the order process to the actual delivery of a car and that is if everything goes correctly. The Aero Coupes were a special vehicle and suspect they were outsourced and were not an assembly line item. Just a few thoughts. I doubt this car was done by DE Chevrolet. By the time his dealership would have settled into doing something like that the 88's would have been on their way out and then they began racing the Lumina. I am sure they did a few of those.
