Well the only reason why i want to do all this is because i want to front bumper cover, i'm not a big fan of the 00-05 cover... i find that it's a lil to busy, to many curves compared to the rest of the car.. love to 06-07 because of wide flat area on it, seems like it goes with the *** end better... but the more you guys are commenting on this, the more im finding that i might be getting in over my head with this...

Any one on this site have the razzi body kit? seems to be the only one that adds to the car without making it look like 17 trying to beat a civic (not that it would be that hard but im sure you catch my drift..)

Doing the work to your Monte can't be 100% impossible.

Just keep in mind actually doing it, you'll be in uncharted waters.

If you make it work you'll be the hero to many other '00-05 Montes owners who've wanted to try the parts swap but were too scared to try it.

You'll be answering questions about the parts swap for a long time.

Well ill start by hunting around for a cheap QP.... like i said.. im sure some dumb as kid has wrecked daddy's lil SS... i just don't want to spend more the 2500 the front end swap.... that would include the hood from MPD, http://www.mpd-inc.net/mc.htm .....

it would be nice to get this done cheaper, but no promises this will get done... maybe ill just take the easy way out and get the kit from razzi lol

you probably wont get it done for under 2500. if you do then you skipped a bunch of steps and you wont be able to get me into that car

yeah i figured i might have to jack a 06 and take it apart... just kidding...

but like i said... I'll start by looking for a cheap QP before i put to much effort into this... and if doesnt match up...you guys think the doors are interchangeable? possibly just the skin?

i dunno... its all alot of maybe's at this point... im still torn between the 7th gen look and the 6th gen ss hood with the razzi kit...

i also want to bump u the hp as much as i can without boost... so thats gonna be a good chunk of change

I'm guessing at all of this.............

They say the '06 quarters were raised a bit versus the '00-05 Montes. But the quarter windowes look exactly the same from '05 to '06.

My guess is the doors are the same from '00-05 to '06-07. Why they would keep them the same is beyond me if they redesigned the entire dog house and raised the quarters in 2006. But they also want to save money doing this. So keeping the same doors in to 2006 would save them money. And GM is not in business to make cars. They're in business to make money.

WE all know they did a redesign on the taillights and rear bumper cover. More rounded bumper cover and no clear lense over the taillights like in '00-05. BUT........... the '06 taillights will mount up to a '00-05 Monte with no modifications to the '00-05 body.

Then it just may be the '06-07 rear bumper cover just may mount up to the '00-05 Monte body with no mods. They may have raised the '06-07 Monte quarters up a bit, but that does not mean the mounting points on the bumper covers changed? Just the quarters themselves are larger from the bottom edge of the car to the tops of the quarter panels. (More space or sheet metal inbetween)

Just a note.
I haven't seen any information the doors, roof, trunk lid, glass, or firewall were changed for 2006. Just the things that attach to them or complete dog house, taillights, and rear bumper cover.

If all that needs done is new brackets and drilling a few holes then its not to bad... if im patient im sure i can slowly start gtting parts... im hoping that the actual bumpers wont need replacing... just the covers... but at that point, whats an other 500$? lol

It'sgonna be cold up here for quite some time still so i doubt i'll be trying to fit anything untill late mayish
